Meanwhile, the parasites are starting to work together, while the human authorities are learning how they might be able to fight back. As private detective Kuramori learns the extent of the parasites’ capacity for violence, parasite Reiko Tamura learns about the human capacity for compassion. But will that be enough to stop the bloodshed?
