Terms of Service

These Terms of Service apply to all orders placed through the TOKYO READS website. By placing an order, you agree to these terms.

1. Company Information

TOKYO READS is a registered trade name of Baker Studio (KvK 95320296, VAT NL005145626B52), located at Witte Paal 300A, 1742 LD Schagen, Netherlands. We can be reached at info@tokyoreads.com or by phone at +31 6 13448533..

2. Products

All products offered are physical items unless explicitly stated otherwise. Product descriptions and images are provided as accurately as possible. Minor deviations in color, cover art, or packaging from the product image may occur and are not considered defects.

3. Orders

Once an order has been placed and confirmed, it cannot be modified. TOKYO READS reserves the right to cancel any order in case of pricing errors, out-of-stock items, or suspected fraudulent activity.

4. Prices & Payments

All prices are listed in euros (€) and include applicable VAT. We accept iDEAL, Bancontact, major credit cards, and other secure payment methods. Payment is required before an order can be fulfilled. An invoice is automatically provided upon purchase.

5. Shipping

Orders are processed through our European distribution partner, Gardners EU. Shipments originate from their central warehouse in France and are delivered via UPS. Estimated delivery times within the Netherlands are 2–3 business days. For more information view our Shipping Policy.

6. Pre-Orders

Certain products may be offered as pre-orders. By placing a pre-order, you agree to the following conditions:

• Release dates are provided by publishers or distributors and are subject to change.
• Pre-orders are shipped as soon as the product becomes available.
• Delivery dates for pre-orders are estimates and not guaranteed.
• If a pre-ordered product is delayed, TOKYO READS will inform you as soon as reasonably possible.

If a pre-order is cancelled by the publisher or supplier, or cannot be fulfilled, any payment made will be refunded in full.

Customers may cancel a pre-order at any time prior to shipment. If a pre-order cannot be fulfilled, a full refund will be issued.

7. Returns & Right of Withdrawal

In accordance with EU Directive 2011/83/EU, customers have 14 days to withdraw without providing a reason. Items must be returned in their original condition. Costs of return shipping are the responsibility of the customer unless the product was damaged or incorrect.

8. Liability

TOKYO READS is not liable for indirect damages, including but not limited to loss of profit, unless caused by willful misconduct or gross negligence. Liability is limited to the total value of the relevant order unless caused by gross negligence or deliberate misconduct.

9. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, images, logos, and branding, is the property of TOKYO READS or its licensors and may not be used without permission.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands.
